  1. I’m running SBS 2003 sp2. After installing this update, my exchange services, smtp services, ftp services, antivirus services and backup services were all stopped. I wonder if this was a fluke on my server or if it will happen on all servers.

  3. It was not a fluke. It did exactly the same thing to my 3 Exchange servers. One each in the UK, USA and NZ. The boxes did not automatically restart, so it left all the services in a stopped state. Thanks Microsoft!

  5. Is this issue only for SBS Server 2003 or other edition because , on SBS server and other edition with Symantec Backup installed on it , all the services related to Exchange server and Symantec Backup services went down while applying patches but didn’t turn up after installation of patch and prompted for reboot. Where as on other edition all services were stoped while installing the patch and started normally after completion of installation where symantec backup is not present.

Guys, Please let me know if this is anything to with SBS server or Symantec Backup.

  7. This update totally fucked us up, the smtp mailbox was disonnected and email were queued up in the local delivery. Any resolutions?
