  1. KB972270 caused my system (Toshiba laptop Vista home premium) to freeze during installation. System has been randomly freezing since then. System restore to before installing this has not fixed the problem. I wasn’t having problems prior to this.

  3. I have having a similar problem. After installing this update the computer notifies me that a multitude of files are corrupt. It also restarts randomly.

  5. I cannot get this security update to install on vista. It fails repeatedly. Will this fix be included in subsequent updates since this will not go onto my computer?

  7. Running a box with vista 32-bit (home basic) and have the problem even after downloading the patch file (.msu) and attempting manually. The updater hung at 100% and failed to actually “complete” if you will. Thoroughly annoying at best. For now I hid the thing. Soon, I may switch to a Linux Distro and run windows only in virtualized instances. I am finding that while some improvements in windows do exist, all in all the interface is progessively more annoying, and the profuse number of ‘versions’ is only growing.
